Junk Kouture- Coca Cola

Junk Kouture is a competition for teens in Ireland to express thier passion for fashion through creating an outfit out of junk. This year my friends; Nicole, Deirdre and I decided to enter. Unfortunately we didn't make it through but I thought that today I would show you our design and talk about Junk Kouture :)

The rules are you can create anything to wear using whatever you like aslong as it can be classed as junk. We decided to give our dress a theme and make our dress out of all things Coca Cola including, wrappers, cans, bottle tops and labels.

After months of prepping, annoying people for labels and alot of glue gun burns, this is was our finished product!

What do you guys think?

Raising awareness of sustainability in fashion and recyling is so important. Junk Kouture has encouraged me to be more aware of upcycling and how to reuse things to create something beautiful. I love art and design and enjoy doing mini D.I.Y. projects. Maybe next year I might give Junk Kouture another go We'll just have to wait and see.... I definitely recommend giving it a go next year, it was so fun to do and a great project for transition year. Did you enter Junk Kouture?
