Striving to be healthier can prove to be very difficult as a teenager. It's your family, school and friends that greatly influence your healthy lifestyle choices.

Reaching Out to the Sun

Here are a few of my top tips for trying to be healthier;

1. Swap any white flour produce for wholegrain, weather it be at home for your toast or when you are buying a roll at school. Wholegrain products contian fibre which improves digestion and can help reduce obesity.

Purple Water Bottle

2. Drink water. I like to bring a 1litre bottle of water to school with me and set a goal to finish the bottle before I get home. Water is so important it makes up 60% of our body, improves your skin, and so much more. The recommended daily allowance for water is 2-3 litres a day.

3. Snacks at breaktime. Alot of us tend to go to the vending machines at break time as they are quick and convinient. All they provide is with is chocolate and crisps which is not good to be having at 11am. Having an apple in your bag or a container of fruit/nuts/seeds is a way to help stop that urge to go for junk. Fruit can provide the sweetness you are craving while nuts and seeds are very filling.

4.Set yourself a certain time in the day to go for a walk, dance or even plan a workout. If you can ensure it is outside in the fresh air. I love to look up dance videos on youtube or videos from blogilates. As Cassey says, 'If you don't treat your workout like a date it is not important enough to you.' Any little bit of excersise can help you in so many ways both physically and mentally. But don't beat yourself over not working out every day, your body needs rest days too.

5. Create an inspiration board. You could create a vision board on whatever you like be it, pictures of you and your friends, your favourite quotes or fashion inspiration. Having something that you love to look at every day will motivate you to make the most of your day.

Post It

6. Alot of us teenagers spend so much time on our phones, on social media or watching the tv. So next time you turn on your phone set your self a time when you have to set it down and walk up and down the hall a few times or when ads come on the tv do some sit ups or pushups.

Those are just a few little tips to help become a healthier, happier you! Have you any differents tips? Please let me know. Don't forget to follow @mcnystyle on Twitter and instagram. :)
